GSA to Host VETS 2 DPA Training Webinar for Federal IT Acquisition Professionals
On August 19, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Eastern Time, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) will conduct a complimentary webinar focused on the VETS 2 Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). This virtual training session is designed to educate federal users, including contracting officers, program office officials, managers, and executive staff, on leveraging the VETS 2 GWAC to support agency IT project initiatives. The webinar is a critical step for warranted contracting officers seeking Delegation of Procurement Authority (DPA), which is required to issue task orders under the VETS 2 contract.
Purpose and Importance of the VETS 2 GWAC
The VETS 2 GWAC is a best-in-class contract exclusively set aside for Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs). It provides federal agencies with a flexible and efficient vehicle to procure a wide range of IT services, including emerging technologies. The contract supports various task order types, such as fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, labor-hour, and time-and-materials, enabling agencies to meet diverse mission requirements. In June 2024, the GSA increased the VETS 2 contract ceiling by $1.1 billion, bringing the total ceiling value to $6.1 billion, underscoring its significance in federal IT procurement.
Webinar Details and Accessibility
The webinar is tailored for federal acquisition professionals and is not open to contractors. Participants will earn one Continuous Learning Point (CLP) for attending, which supports professional development requirements for federal acquisition certifications. The GSA is committed to accessibility, offering real-time closed captioning and American Sign Language interpretation upon request. For inquiries or to request accommodations, federal users can contact the GSA at 855-482-4348 or via email at ITCSC@gsa.gov.
Training Requirements and DPA Process
Warranted contracting officers must complete VETS 2 DPA training before requesting authority to issue task orders under the contract. In addition to live webinars, training options include reviewing the VETS 2 contract ordering guide, completing the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) course FAC 180, or watching relevant YouTube training sessions. After completing the training, contracting officers must submit an online DPA request form to gain procurement authority. The GSA encourages all acquisition team members to attend live webinars for a more interactive experience with instructors.
Registration and Additional Information
Registration details for the August 19 webinar are available through the GSA’s official website or the Federal Acquisition Institute’s FAITAS platform, though registration typically closes 24 hours prior to the event. Federal users are encouraged to check the GSA’s events page for updates or alternative training dates, as similar webinars have been held regularly, with sessions scheduled throughout 2025, including February 7, April 15, and May 20.
