This is a high-impact role for experienced blockchain engineers looking to work on critical security features for decentralized finance (DeFi), digital identity, and crypto asset management.

About the Role
Youl be part of a dedicated blockchain security team working on secure smart contract frameworks, auditing tools, and protocol-level protections that safeguard Coinbase and its user base in the evolving Web3 landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and secure blockchain-based applications and smart contracts (Solidity, Vyper, etc.)
Conduct vulnerability assessments, audits, and threat modeling for DeFi protocols
Collaborate with backend, security, and protocol teams on decentralized architecture
Implement best practices in key management, data privacy, and secure contract deployment
Monitor and respond to real-time threats and zero-day vulnerabilities
Contribute to open-source security tooling for the Web3 community
Ideal Candidate Profile
3+ years’ experience in blockchain or smart contract development
Strong knowledge of Ethereum, EVM, Layer 2 protocols, and DeFi ecosystems
Proficiency in Solidity, Rust, Go, or TypeScript
Experience with tools like Hardhat, Foundry, MythX, and Slither
Passion for Web3 security, cryptography, and protocol integrity
Eligible for or seeking sponsorship under Portugal Tech Visa program
