Oaks, Pennsylvania – November 28, 2025 – America’s favorite Thanksgiving canine tradition delivered another unforgettable moment today when Soleil, a breathtaking Belgian Sheepdog, was crowned Best in Show at the 2025 National Dog Show Presented by Purina.
Competing against 1,994 purebred dogs from 201 AKC-recognized breeds at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Soleil rose above an elite field of group winners to claim the coveted purple-and-gold ribbon and $20,000 prize.
Soleil Steals the Spotlight
Officially known as GCHS Prairiewind’s Songs of Summer at La Neige, the 4-year-old Belgian Sheepdog was handled by Daniel Martin of Princeton, North Carolina. After winning the Herding Group, Soleil dazzled Best in Show judge Charlie Olvis with flawless movement and electric show presence.
“She didn’t put a foot down wrong. Didn’t miss a beat,” Olvis said of the black-coated champion.
Co-owned by Connie Jasinski, Pat Snow, and Nancy Maye, Soleil is currently America’s top-ranked Belgian Sheepdog and now adds the most prestigious non-Westminster title in U.S. dog showing to her resume.
