Kelley Mack, born Kelley Lynne Klebenow on July 10, 1992, was a dynamic talent with 35 acting credits and five as a producer. She captured hearts as Addy, a Hilltop Colony resident, in five episodes of The Walking Dead Season 9 (2018-2019), where her character’s gripping storyline included a perilous encounter with the Whisperers. Her television portfolio also featured roles on 9-1-1 (2019), Chicago Med (2022) as Penelope Jacobs, Schooled (a Modern Family spinoff), and miniseries such as Unusual Suspects (2015) and Grayson: Earth One (2015).
In film, Kelley starred in Broadcast Signal Intrusion (2021) alongside Harry Shum Jr., Delicate Arch (2024), Mr. Manhattan, and the forthcoming Universal (2025), where she also served as an executive producer. Her passion for storytelling ignited with a childhood gift of a mini video camera, leading to early commercial roles. She graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2010 and earned a bachelor’s degree in cinematography from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film in 2014, balancing her acting career with expertise in film production.
Kelley was an avid college tennis player and loved hiking, pickleball, biking, playing piano, and traveling. Her playful side shone through her affection for dark chocolate, bourbon, popcorn, fantasy football, stuffed and real animals, country music, and her knack for a British accent. Despite being a lifelong smoker, she faced her cancer diagnosis with remarkable courage, openly sharing her treatment journey, including regaining mobility after spinal cord biopsy surgery left her temporarily unable to walk. Her boyfriend, Logan Lanier, stood by her through her challenges.
A Heartfelt Goodbye
Kelley passed away peacefully, surrounded by her mother, Kristen, and aunt, Karen. Her sister, Kathryn, announced her passing on Instagram, writing, “Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go.” The post highlighted Kelley’s spiritual presence, noting her appearances as butterflies to loved ones. A remembrance service is scheduled for August 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Glendale Lyceum in Glendale, Ohio, with a Los Angeles celebration of life planned for her industry peers.
