**Complete Review**:
Three years after the gloriously unhinged original became a surprise cult hit, Finnish madman Jalmari Helander returns with Sisu: Road to Revenge – a sequel that somehow manages to be even more brutal, more absurd, and more outrageously entertaining than its predecessor. Jorma Tommila reprises his role as the near-mythical one-man death machine Aatami Korpi, the immortal gold prospector who single-handedly slaughtered his way through an entire Nazi platoon in 1944 Lapland. This time, the year is 1945, the Reich is crumbling, and a fanatical SS death squad led by the sadistic Bruno Helldorf (Aksel Hennie chewing scenery like it’s his last meal) is hunting the “unkillable Finn” for one final act of vengeance.

If you thought the first film’s kills were creative (hanging Nazis from land mines, drowning them in swamp gas, using a pickaxe in ways that would make Jason Voorhees blush), Road to Revenge turns the dial to 11. We get tank surfing, aerial dogfights with a propeller blade, a church bell used as a blunt instrument, and a finale involving a burning zeppelin that has to be seen to be believed. Helander stages every set piece with gleeful, almost cartoonish excess – practical gore effects are jaw-droppingly realistic, blood sprays in arterial fountains, and the sound design makes every bone crunch and skull crack feel painfully intimate.

Tommila remains the ultimate silent badass: he speaks maybe twelve words total, but his weathered face and thousand-yard stare do all the acting required. Aksel Hennie is a deliciously hateable villain, delivering monologues in a thick German accent that somehow never tips into parody. The film wisely keeps the runtime under 100 minutes, moving at breakneck speed from one insane action beat to the next without a single breath of exposition or character development – because who needs it when you have a scene of a man riding a horse through a minefield while machine-gunning pursuing half-tracks?

This is pure, uncut exploitation cinema done with the craftsmanship of a big-budget blockbuster. Cinematography is gorgeous in its bleakness – snow-swept wastelands, burning villages, and crimson-splattered white horizons. The score pounds with industrial metal riffs that feel like a chainsaw to the eardrums.

**Pros**:
– Some of the most inventive, visceral action sequences you’ll see all year
– Jorma Tommila’s stone-cold legendary performance
– Zero fat – 97 minutes of nonstop mayhem
– Practical effects and stunts that put most Marvel movies to shame

**Cons**:
– Story? What story? Character arcs are measured in body count
– Not for the faint of heart (or stomach) – the gore is extreme even by R-rated standards
– If you didn’t like the first one, this won’t convert you

**Verdict**: Sisu: Road to Revenge is the rare sequel that takes everything that made the original a sleeper hit and injects it with pure adrenaline. It’s John Wick on bath salts, Rambo on steroids, and the most fun you can have in a theater while watching a man literally tear Nazis limb from limb. Helander has crafted a modern exploitation masterpiece that doesn’t pretend to be anything more than two hours of glorious, blood-soaked revenge porn – and it’s absolutely perfect at it. **Rating: 8.8/10** – The best pure action movie of 2025 so far. Grab a strong drink, leave your brain at the door, and enjoy the carnage!

Now playing in select theaters and available on premium VOD. If you love over-the-top violence served with a side of dark Finnish humor, this is unmissable. Stay tuned to ClickUSA News for more action coverage and potential trilogy news!
